The starting point for the whole PALMETTO FABRICS collection by Harlequin, was a botanical document that evoked the inside of an orangery, with its exotic portrayal of rubber plants and passion flowers. The six glorious fabric prints are presented on a mix of sumptuous silks and natural linens, many of which have been embellished with textured threads, foiling and metallics. They depict a cornucopia of etched blooms, as well as delicately drawn butterflies, dragonflies and ostrich feathers. The ZAMBESI collection by Unique Fabrics, is inspired by the patterns and textures of Africa. The starting point was an antique mud-cloth purchased in South Africa 20 years ago, which was re-worked into ‘Kirubi’. We then created another three designs with contrasting scales. These designs are printed in Italy on a linen/cotton base-cloth, suitable for upholstery, drapery and accessories.
