Born and raised in Rome, ALESSANDRA BRANCA learned at an early age that classical beauty is meant to be intermingled with everyday life. She believes that living well also involves comfort, elegance, and a dose of humour – whether it’s a beach house in the islands, a Colorado ranch, a first home for a young family, or a sophisticated New York apartment. Do yourself a favour and enjoy viewing her stunning collection for Schumacher Fabrics.
The starting point for the whole PALMETTO FABRICS collection by Harlequin, was a botanical document that evoked the inside of an orangery, with its exotic portrayal of rubber plants and passion flowers. The six glorious fabric prints are presented on a mix of sumptuous silks and natural linens, many of which have been embellished with textured threads, foiling and metallics. They depict a cornucopia of etched blooms, as well as delicately drawn butterflies, dragonflies and ostrich feathers. Palmetto’s glorious fabric prints are complemented by three über-glamorous weaves, accented with shine and shimmer. Also see complimentary PALMETTO WALLPAPERS.
Combining his sketches of a small muster of peacocks at a friend’s farm with research into traditional Chinese painted screens, the result of PEACOCK by Jim Thompson is alive with closely observed details. The peahen gazes adoringly at her mate as he displays his spectacularly decorative plumage.
MOMENTUM 5 by Harlequin, comprises four textured upholstery fabrics, all of which meet contract standards: a rustic tweed, a relaxed stonewashed plain, lustrous mesh effect velvet and a ribbed fabric with a twine effect running through it. MOMENTUM 6 encompasses eight eye-catching drapery designs: graphic but with a softened edge, the designs interpret organic and architectural features such as marbled surfaces, overblown florals, repeating mirrored patterns and a new take on an Ikat motif.
