BOUGHTON HOUSE - This floral, leafy chintz comes from a circa-1870 fragment of fine cotton with a stripe of charming blooms and moiré detailing—a supreme example of Victorian textile art and one of the stars of our archives. Our modern interpretation expands the scale of the pattern with generous poppies, peonies, and roses trailing along a thick stripe repeat. With a faux moiré edging, it is perfectly poised for the fashionable resurgence of chintz. Porcelain combines layers of pale blues while Gris marries understated grey tones with light greens.
