Archive Prints

After establishing 'The Firm's' production of wallpapers, William Morris turned his attention to the production of hand-block-printed fabrics. The earliest Morris prints were produced by the printing mill Bannister Hall, but later Morris moved to Merton Abbey and set up his own print works. In producing the Archive Prints Collection, the studio has retained the characteristics of block printing and some of the original colourations. The Collection includes original designs by Morris & Co., with new designs inspired by his woven tapestries and embroideries, painted by the current design team.
